Introducing the Panasonic Lumix S 18mm F1.8
The Panasonic Lumix S 18mm F1.8 is a fast prime lens. Part of the L-mount system, this fifth lens completes Panasonic’s lineup of F1.8 lenses. Like all lenses in the LUMIX S series, it delivers a smooth, rounded bokeh with no vignetting. The circular aperture, composed of 9 blades, provides exceptional image quality with sharp, precise light beams and a subtle gradation of background blur from the center to the edges of the image.
The Lumix S 18mm lens is composed of 13 elements in 12 groups. The combination of three aspherical lenses, three Extra-low Dispersion (ED) lenses, one Ultra-High Refractive Index (UHR) lens, and one Ultra-low Dispersion (UED) lens effectively prevents axial and magnification chromatic aberrations, while maintaining a compact design. This lens can also be used for -up photography thanks to its minimum focusing distance of 0.18m.
Thanks to its ultra-wide-angle lens, it’s suitable for a wide range of situations, including astrophotography, landscape photography, and architectural photography. It also features ultra-fast 240fps autofocus, focus breathing suppression, and micro-step aperture control.
It is suitable for use in harsh conditions down to -10°C, and is dustproof and splashproof to meet the needs of professionals. Weighing in at an ultra-light 340g, the LUMIX S 18mm F1.8 offers exceptional portability, perfectly complementing the S5, Lumix’s smallest full-frame model.
