Presentation of the Tokina Expander EF-PL

Tokina created the Tokina Expander EF-PL so cinematographers can use their favorite Super35 PL lenses on the latest 6K/8K full-frame cameras. This optical converter increases the image circle diameter by 1.6x on Super35 PL and zoom lenses. This allows for a wider variety of lens choices when shooting with cameras like the RED Dragon , which has a 46.31mm (8K) diagonal sensor.

Tokina engineers paid particular attention to the 7-element optical design to ensure the integrity of the original lens’s performance and maintain light drop at a manageable 1.36 stops. The fully mechanical design is robust, durable, and lightweight.
