The Zeiss Supreme Prime Radiance Supplementary Kit (metric) allows you to add Zeiss Prime Radiance 18, 40, 65 and 135mm cinema lenses to your standard Zeiss Supreme Prime Radiance kit to complete your collection of top-quality lenses offering consistent and controlled flare.
Zeiss Supreme Prime Radiance lenses are designed for cinematic large-format sensor coverage, making them the ideal choice for current and future camera systems. With a T1.5 aperture, the Zeiss Supreme Prime lenses demonstrate their unparalleled expertise in low-light environments. They allow cinematographers to create beautiful and consistent flares, while maintaining a crucial function: control. This is made possible by the Blue T* lens coating. Thanks to this new technology, flares can be planned and reproduced, while also maintaining contrast and avoiding the transmission losses typically encountered with uncoated lenses.
Under normal lighting conditions, the Supreme Prime Radiance lenses function as a modern, versatile cinematic lens. However, appropriate lighting will cause flare. Cinematographers can choose and plan when they want to create this optical aberration rather than relying on unforeseen effects. Overall, the Supreme Radiance lenses are slightly faster than the Supreme Prime lenses but retain all the other characteristics of the first-generation Supreme Prime lenses.
The 18mm, 40mm, 65mm, and 135mm lenses in this kit are a slightly warmer version of their Supreme Prime counterparts, but enough to be used together. Each lens produces a 46.3mm image circle, covering full-frame sensors. The PL lens mount transmits ZEISS eXtended lens data and is interchangeable with a separately available ARRI LPL mount.
Each lens is a fast T1.5 but has a front diameter of only 95mm (except for the 114mm, which has 18mm and 135mm front diameters), allowing you to use a wide variety of matte boxes, from pocket-sized to studio-sized. Both the focus and iris rings incorporate standard 0.8 MOD and 32-step gears, with every lens in the Supreme Prime Radiance line sharing the same gear positions for quick lens changes.
