The Hi5-4K-Plus provides a monitoring connection from 4K devices with Quad 3G-SDI, Quad 1.5G-SDI or Dual 3G-SDI outputs to newer displays with HDMI 2.0 inputs, enabling more cost-effective monitoring for professional 4:2:2/4:4:4 60p workflows.

Connectivity:
The latest generation of 4K monitors uses HDMI 2.0 connections, allowing a full 4K signal to pass through a single cable. Professional 4K workflows use four SDI cables to carry full-resolution images, complicating the use of these new monitors. The Hi5-4K-Plus is an easy-to-use converter that bridges these two worlds for simplified setups.
Audio
Up to 8 channels of audio embedded in the incoming SDI signal are carried through the HDMI output, ensuring permanent audio sync easily listened to and verified via the connected monitor.
4K and UltraHD:
A 4K signal has a resolution of 4096×2160 pixels, while an UltraHD signal is only 3840×2160. This difference can prevent some monitors from being used in mixed workflows, such as full 4K or UltraHD. The Hi5-4K-Plus compensates for these resolution differences, allowing UltraHD monitors to be used in 4K workflows and vice versa.
The Hi5-4K-Plus is also compatible with High Frame Rate (HFR) inputs. 4K/UHD signals at 50 or 60 fps entering the Hi5-4K-Plus can be output at 60p for viewing via HDMI 2.0 on compatible displays.
HD Compatibility:
Not all productions are in 4K. When you’re not working in 4K, the Hi5-4K-Plus can still be a useful tool for converting HD-SDI to HDMI. A simple HD-SDI signal entering the Hi5-4K will be output as HDMI at HD resolution, much like the AJA Mini-Converter Hi5-3G.
