Description

The mini Sync Generator converter offers 6 video reference outputs to lock all equipment in your studio in both triple HD sync and blackburst signal for standard definition video.

Automatic switching between SD and HD

The mini converters instantly switch between high-definition and standard-definition formats, and the switchover takes effect as soon as the input video signal differs. A wide range of video standards are supported, including NTSC, PAL, 1080i/59.94, 1080i/50, 1080psf/23.98, 1080psf/24, 720p/59.94, and 720p/50, but other formats can easily be added via the USB connection.

Redundant SDI input

Mini converters offer a redundant input, ideal for exceptional events such as broadcasts or live programs. You can connect a second backup cable to the second input, and if the primary input fails due to a damaged cable or any other reason, the mini converter automatically switches to the redundant input. This unique feature allows you to use the mini converters in challenging situations where crowds or other environmental factors might cause problems. A loop-through SDI output is also provided for connection to other devices. This loop-through SDI output is particularly useful if you need more than two audio channels, as you can connect the loop output to another mini converter to extract the additional audio channels.

New 3 Gbps SDI technology

Mini converters are among the first products on the market to offer 3 Gbps SDI technology as standard, and updates can be downloaded via the integrated USB connection to ensure full compatibility with future video formats. 3 Gbps SDI is, of course, fully compatible with both standard and high-definition video equipment.

Analog audio or embedded AES/EBU

Standard 1/4 jacks are integrated for supporting balanced analog audio or AES/EBU digital audio. Since mini converters use 1/4 jack connectors for all audio connections, you can use standard cables available in studios and professional audio stores. Unlike other types of converters, mini converters don’t require special cables, as any 1/4 jack cable can be used. Mini converters are also unique in their ability to use the same 1/4 jack connections for both analog and digital audio signals. This means you only need one type of converter to process both analog and digital audio. You can select the audio format type using the switches on the side of the converter. In AES/EBU digital audio input modes, a sample rate converter allows you to connect any AES/EBU source, synchronized or unsynchronized. On HDMI models, you also have full access to the audio signals embedded in the HDMI video connection.

Very high quality

Mini converters are manufactured to the highest quality standards, with very low SDI flicker, allowing you to use very long SDI cables. They combine multiple internal power supplies to minimize noise for broadcast-quality analog audio and video signals. Unlike other types of converters, mini converters do not use second-rate components to reduce costs. Furthermore, mini converters use the same analog video signal processing design as Blackmagic’s most advanced product, the Multibridge Eclipse!

Universal power supply

Unlike other types of converters, a universal power supply is included with plug adapters for most countries. This allows you to use the mini converters anywhere in the world and connect them directly to various plug types. To prevent accidental power disconnection, a locking mechanism for the power connector is included as standard.
