Introducing the Canon EOS R50 V

The Canon EOS R50 V (Black) is an APS-C mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera specifically designed for content creators, vloggers, streamers, and videographers looking for a powerful, compact, and intuitive tool. Directly inspired by the Cinema EOS range , this ultra-light and ergonomic body adopts the design principles of Canon’s V-Series with a redesigned look optimized for video, a multi-function hot shoe, and native compatibility with Canon RF lenses .

Equipped with a 24.2 megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor and the DIGIC X processor, the R50 V allows UHD 4K video recording up to 60p (with crop), all with a rich colorimetry and professional features: Canon Log 3, HLG, HDR PQ, False Color, Zebras, and much more.

24.2 MP APS-C sensor & DIGIC X processing

The combination of the 24.2MP sensor and the DIGIC X processor delivers excellent image quality, even in low light, with an ISO range of 100 to 32,000 (expandable to 51,200). It supports upsampled 4K 30p video from a 6K signal, or Full HD at up to 120 fps for smooth slow motion. In burst mode, the R50 V achieves 15 fps thanks to its silent electronic shutter.

Advanced Dual Pixel CMOS AF II Autofocus

The Dual Pixel CMOS AF II system covers 651 focus areas with intelligent detection and tracking of people, animals, and vehicles . Inherited from the R5 Mark II, it includes advanced recognition features such as Register People Priority , to maintain focus on an identified subject throughout the recording.

Video-friendly design with vertical mounting and front panel button

Designed for vlogging, the R50 V features a front-facing REC button and a side screw thread for vertical mounting, ideal for 16:9 content. Its 3-inch tilting touchscreen makes framing easy from any angle. It also includes four native live streaming options : USB (UVC), HDMI, the Camera Connect, or Live Switcher Mobile for multi-camera production.

Full connectivity and multi-function audio/video shoe

The Canon EOS R50 V (Black) features dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4/5 GHz) and Bluetooth 4.2, as well as a USB-C 3.2 port, micro HDMI, microphone input, headphone output, and a Canon multi-function hot shoe that supports 24-bit LPCM 4-channel with a compatible microphone. The hot shoe also accepts external flashes for still photography.
