Introducing the Canon EF TS-E 90mm F/2.8L Macro

The Canon EF TS-E 90mm f/2.8L Macro telephoto lens is a tilt-shift lens ideal for product and table photography. It offers up to +/- 10° of tilt for focus control and +/- 12mm of shift for adjusting perspective and composition. A tilt-lock mechanism can be used during shooting for added stability. A minimum focusing distance of 1.3′ and a maximum magnification of 0.5x are also facilitated by the range of movements, providing greater control over depth of field when photographing -up subjects.

Complementing the lens’s functionality, this first L also stands out for its optical design, which features an ultra-low dispersion element to significantly reduce fringing and chromatic aberrations, as well as an aspherical element to minimize spherical aberrations and distortion. The individual elements also feature an Air Sphere coating to suppress flare and ghosting for improved contrast and greater color neutrality.

The key features of the Canon EF TS-E 90mm F/2.8L Macro

Perspective control: The tilting lens offers +/- 12mm of shift and +/- 10° of tilt, and both types of movement can be applied independently, either parallel or perpendicular to each other. Furthermore, the tilt and shift functions can be rotated +/- 90° in any direction to apply movements in separate directions.

The tilt-lock mechanism and a large tilt knob make operation easy and ensure the lens stays in place during filming.

An ultra-low dispersion (UD) element helps reduce color fringing and chromatic aberrations for improved color clarity and accuracy.

An aspherical element minimizes spherical aberrations and distortion for improved sharpness.

An Air Sphere coating has been applied to the lenses to minimize surface and internal reflections for a marked reduction of stray light and ghosting when working in bright lighting conditions.

A minimum focusing distance of 1.3′ and a maximum magnification of 0.5x allow working with subjects.
