Introducing the Sony Alpha 6700

The Sony Alpha 6700 is a hybrid camera that succeeds the a6600. With this camera, Sony combines the prowess of its Cinema Line range with the image quality of its(Alpha) series and its technological advances in AI-based recognition.

It incorporates a new 26MP APS-C/Super35 Exmor R CMOS sensor with backlighting, along with a host of new features, including AI-powered AF modes, similar to the a7R V. The camera, which boasts 759 phase-detection points (495 in video mode) and covers 93% of the image, can also recognize human noses, eyes, ears, necks, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, and ankles using deep learning. Its new AI chipset is also highly effective at anticipating animal movements. Furthermore, new dedicated detection and tracking modes for airplanes, cars, and trains are available.

It also features a new BIONZ XR processor. This sensor/processor combination allows for seamless 11fps burst shooting (with either the mechanical or electronic shutter), as well as upsampled 4K60p video from a 6K resolution. It can internally record 4:2:2 10-bit footage. XAVC I and XAVC HS codecs are supported, along with S-Log3 and S-Cinetone modes for professional-quality results.

Finally, the a6700 features a 5-axis optical image stabilization system, which compensates for five different types of camera shake encountered when shooting handheld stills and videos. The AI processing unit also improves communication between the camera body and the lens, providing more stable framing before shooting. This allows users to confidently use any lens.
