This low-latency converter includes a media library to preserve logos and graphics, as well as a freeze-frame function. It can also generate a reference signal and features 12G-SDI and Quad SDI connections that can be used simultaneously. The Teranex AV boasts a wide range of connections, including consumer HiFi, XLR audio, HDMI, and HDMI loop-through output. To protect the cables and connectors, metal brackets can be attached to the rear panel.

High-performance HDMI processing: convert HDMI to SDI without additional equipment!

The Teranex AV features an HDMI input, a loop-through output, and HDMI and SDI outputs, offering maximum versatility during live events! You can convert HDMI signals to SDI without external adapters or conversion equipment! Regardless of the input format, you can simultaneously send the signal to a projector via the HDMI loop-through output and to downstream equipment, such as recorders and monitors, via the SDI output. Audio from AES, analog, and RCA inputs can also be embedded in the HDMI and SDI outputs during conversion!

Cadence detection and correction: eliminate 3:2 pulldown even on edited masters

In the United States and Japan, the frame rate for broadcast video is 29.97 fps, while for feature films it’s 24 fps. Therefore, when a film is converted to video, the 3:2 pulldown technique is used to insert frames between the video fields. This can cause problems when the film is prepared for online streaming, where files are encoded at 24 fps. The frames created by the 3:2 pulldown cause quality issues. The Teranex Express and Teranex AV models detect this pulldown and remove the extra frames. This « frame rate detection and correction » produces a much cleaner film. Furthermore, the frames can be removed even after the video has been edited and the frame rate has been changed.

The Teranex Express and Teranex AV models are the world’s first broadcast converters to include 12G-SDI connections, allowing you to work with formats up to 2160p60 using your existing cables. The multi-rate 12G-SDI connections offer automatic switching to 6G-SDI, 3G-SDI, HD-SDI, and SD-SDI, making them compatible with all your SD, HD, and Ultra HD equipment! SDI connections can transfer data at 12 gigabits per second, so they’re fast enough to support Ultra HD 4K video at up to 60 frames per second. These converters are truly future-proof!

High-performance, professional connections for 24/7 reliability

The Teranex AV features 12G-SDI and HDMI 2.0a inputs, a loop output, HDMI and SDI outputs, and BNC connectors for the reference signal. It also includes two consumer HiFi channels and XLR connectors for connecting four channels of AES/EBU or two channels of balanced analog audio. The Teranex AV is therefore ideal for presenters using lavalier microphones or laptop audio, as the audio signal can be embedded with the video on any output. This converter also has a fiber optic slot, allowing for the addition of an optional module to transmit video and audio over long distances! If you only use SDI signals, choose the Teranex Express model, which features 12G-SDI connections!
