Description
Converts 12G-SDI to Quad Link SDI , enabling the connection of advanced 12G-SDI Ultra HD equipment to Quad Link Ultra HD hardware. It also allows the Ultra HD SDI input signal to be split into four HD SDI outputs for standard HD displays, such as video walls. This converter also includes a 12G-SDI loop output and supports Level A and B 3G-SDI equipment.
Teranex Mini
The new generation of mini converters featuring cutting-edge technology and features
Introducing the Teranex Mini, the next generation of 12G-SDI converters that deliver award-winning Teranex quality and support SD, HD, and Ultra HD up to 2160p60! Every Teranex Mini model features a built-in DC power supply, professional analog XLR and AES/EBU connections, and an Ethernet port for remote control and PoE. The optional Teranex Mini front panel includes a color display and controls for efficient video monitoring and parameter adjustments. With the Teranex Mini, you get all the features of a traditional converter plus a host of innovative new functionalities.
Take them everywhere
The most versatile converters in the world!
The all-new Teranex Mini converters are easy to install in video systems and support all types of equipment. Teranex Mini converters are ideal for broadcast installations because they are rack-mountable, and the optional front panel display allows you to view the video being converted. They can also be controlled remotely via Ethernet. Their compact size makes them perfect for installation in portable racks at live events or in OB vans. They also feature professional XLR connections for connecting your device to mixing consoles or other audio equipment! You can also use them in editing and color grading studios and view the video on monitors and projectors!
Reinventing the mini converter
Finally, a mini converter that we can show off!
The Teranex Mini is so small that it can be used like a standard mini converter, so you can hide it behind equipment or television sets. The Teranex Mini’s versatile design also allows you to use it on your desktop or in a rack for integration into large broadcast systems. Unlike standard mini converters, it features professional XLR audio connections and an Ethernet connection for remote control built into the unit. It also includes mini switches for instant parameter adjustments. If you’re covering a major event, you can opt for the optional front panel to view the video you’re converting.
Rack format
The first rack-mountable 12G-SDI converters!
Rack-mountable card converters are expensive, don’t support high-speed SDI such as 12G-SDI, and require the purchase of an entire rack. Teranex Minis are rack-mountable, so they can be rack-mounted with one or more other converters, or left unracked, depending on your needs. Each converter has built-in DC power and an Ethernet port for rock-solid reliability. Unlike card converters, you can change settings from the front panel, view the video passing between each converter, and control them remotely via the Ethernet port! Their compact size allows you to mount them on the front or rear of an equipment rack or transport case.
Cutting-edge 12G-SDI technology
12G-SDI technology for SD, HD and Ultra HD with breathtaking speed!
Teranex Mini converters feature cutting-edge 12G-SDI multi-rate technology, eight times faster than conventional HD-SDI. The 12G-SDI multi-rate interface automatically detects and switches between SD, HD, and Ultra HD, so you can connect Teranex Mini to all your existing SD and HD equipment. 12G-SDI supports high frame rate Ultra HD formats up to 2160p60 using a single BNC cable. This allows you to work in Ultra HD with a high frame rate production workflow, such as for sporting events and action-packed programs.
Intelligent cooling system
Easily supports 12G-SDI in extreme environments
The Teranex Mini’s innovative cooling system features a cross-flow design that ensures optimal performance, even when rack-mounted side-by-side and used in harsh environments. Its intelligent cooling subsystem and internal heat pipe facilitate efficient cooling and quiet airflow. If the Teranex Mini overheats, you will receive a notification via the Ethernet utility and on the front panel display. When mounted side-by-side, the Teranex Mini units circulate air between them, providing redundancy for each unit and preventing overheating.
Teranex Mini Smart Panel
Control the video on your converter!
Unlike traditional converters, the Teranex Mini Smart Panel allows you to view the video being routed to the converter using its integrated LCD screen. This front panel features buttons and an on-screen menu that simplify adjusting and saving settings. The Teranex Mini Smart Panel is an ideal tool because you can always view the video, whether you’re in the field or on set without access to monitors, or even if you’re using multiple converters on an equipment rack.
Professional-grade connections
XLR connectors for audio, Ethernet and integrated IEC DC power
All Teranex Mini converters feature professional-grade connectors, including professional XLR and high-speed BNC connectors that support the high bandwidth of 12G-SDI. All models include a 90V-240V multivolt DC power supply and an IEC-compliant power connector compatible with standard cables. The built-in Ethernet port allows for remote control of the converter and PoE power delivery.
Analog and digital audio
Professional-quality audio
The Teranex Mini is compatible with all professional analog and digital audio equipment thanks to its professional XLR connections that switch between balanced analog audio and AES/EBU digital audio. If you use professional digital audio equipment, this converter allows you to work entirely with digital signals and thus maintain exceptional quality. The professional audio connections integrated into each converter allow you to connect SDI video to mixing consoles, effects processors, compressors, and limiters to SDI video setups. As for analog audio, the Teranex Mini’s -115 dBFS noise reduction makes it an extremely quiet device.
Fiber optic models
Install a fiber optic broadcast system!
Optical cables are becoming increasingly common because they allow SDI signals to be transmitted over very long distances, even at high data rates such as 12G-SDI. They can be installed by electricians or network technicians and are easy to use. Each Teranex Mini converter model has an equivalent fiber optic version, allowing you to work with native fiber optic installations and perform direct conversion from fiber optics to HDMI or analog video and audio. The fiber optic models also include a 12G-SDI connector, enabling you to use them with both standard BNC and fiber optic systems.
Local control and remote control
Easy control and management of your converters
Like standard Mini Converters, the Teranex Mini features mini switches and a printed schematic on its rear panel to help you adjust settings. When using the optional Teranex Smart Panel, settings can be easily changed using the buttons and on-screen menus. If you work in a large studio and use multiple converters, you can control them via Ethernet using the included utility, which is compatible with Mac or Windows.
Superior quality
Teranex patented image processing
Designed using Teranex’s advanced image processing technology, the Teranex Mini is ideal for all professional video applications, particularly in broadcasting and post-production. Its SDI signal synchronization and stability allow for the use of longer cables. Because the Teranex Mini is designed for 12G-SDI, you can use very long cables even when data rates are lower, such as with 6G-SDI, 3G-SDI, and HD-SDI signals. During conversion to analog, noise is minimal thanks to high-quality 12-bit video processing. When converting from Ultra HD to analog video, the Teranex Mini automatically down-converts to analog HD.
