Description
Introducing the Canon EOS R5 C
The Canon EOS R5 C is a hybrid cinema camera that combines the Cinema EOS and EOS R series into a single device. Positioned below the Canon C70 and alongside the R5, it incorporates the same 45MP full-frame sensor and DIGIC processor as the latter, offering a multitude of similar features, such as sensitivity down to -6 EV, and continuous shooting at 12fps in mechanical mode and 20fps in electronic mode.
The R5C distinguishes itself from the R5 in terms of video, offering 8K 12-bit video recording (Cinema RAW Light) at up to 60fps. Note, however, that you will need to add an external power source for shooting above 8K30p. The camera also differs from the R5 in that it benefits from the same electronic image stabilization as the C70.
Although it is lighter than the R5 and has 13 customizable buttons, it has very similar ergonomics with a main dial, 2 quick control dials, an AF multi-controller, a top panel screen, an 8cm 2.1MP LCD screen, 1 CFexpress (type B) slot and an SD UHS-II slot.
In terms of connectivity, the R5C is similar to the R5, supporting Bluetooth, 5GHz and 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. It is also compatible with the optional WFT-R10 wireless transmitter.
Finally, the Canon R5C is powered by an LP-E6NH battery, which recharges via USB using the PD-E1. It can also be powered by AC adapters using the DR-E6C and CA-946 AC adapters.
