The Canon EOS R8 with RF 24-50mm is a kit that includes the EOS R8 body with the RF 24-50mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM lens, which is a small, compact and lightweight zoom lens, ideal for photography and video.

The R8 is the lightest full-frame mirrorless camera in Canon’s EOS R series. It combines a 24.2 MP full-frame CMOS sensor with a DIGIC X processor to deliver fast readout speeds to minimize rolling shutter, a 40 fps frame rate, and high ISO sensitivity up to 102,400.

The R8 also excels in video. It can record uncropped 4K 60p video, upsampled from 6K to produce high-quality images. It also allows for the capture of Full HD 180p slow-motion footage. It features Canon Log 3 internal recording in 10-bit 4:2:2 H.265, offering a wider dynamic range and greater color grading flexibility. HDR PQ and HDR Movie modes are also available to suit HDR workflows. The HDMI Clean output can also produce uncompressed 4K video for compatible devices. The camera combats focus breathing with a feature that compensates for minor framing variations that accompany changes in focus distance. In terms of battery life, the camera offers extended recording times of up to 2 hours in normal shooting mode, making it ideal for vlogging or documentary filming.

The EOS R8 also benefits from a responsive Dual Pixel CMOS AF II autofocus system (the same as on the R6 Mark II) that focuses in just 0.03 seconds, even at 40 fps (electronic shutter). This high-performance system detects and tracks a wide range of subjects, including animals, vehicles, and people. Its ability to detect the head, face, and eyes of people and animals ensures highly accurate focusing.

Compact and lightweight, this camera features a high-resolution 2.36MP electronic viewfinder with a 120fps refresh rate for maximum comfort. It also has a 3-inch, 1.62MP tilting touchscreen and a dedicated switch for quickly switching between photo and video modes.
