Introducing the Blackmagic Design HyperDeck Studio 4K Pro
The HyperDeck Studio 4K Pro has all the features of the HD models plus incredible processing power for working in Ultra HD. It features 12G-SDI with a 12G-SDI loop output. Both SDI outputs support 12G-SDI for playing ProRes 4444 files for Ultra HD fill and key outputs. The HDMI connections and ProRes and DNx file formats all switch between SD, HD, and Ultra HD TV standards. Like the other models, H.264 is included for SD and HD, but switches to H.265 when recording in Ultra HD. The network connection now supports 10G Ethernet for blazing-fast speeds! You also get two redundant AC power supplies.
Mastering recorder
Since all models record in H.264, ProRes, and DNx, they are perfect for recording broadcast masters. Use PCM or AAC audio. The 4K model supports H.265 with Ultra HD recording. You have everything you need to send content to broadcasters and upload it to YouTube.
ProRes, DNx, H.264 and H.265 files are widely used
The HyperDeck supports the most popular codecs! The HyperDeck Studio 4K Pro supports DNx and ProRes file formats and H.264 recording up to 10-bit 4:2:2 in NTSC, PAL, 720p, 1080p, and 1080i interlaced formats. The 4K model allows for H.265 recording in Ultra HD. This gives you compression ratios from 60:1 to 285:1 for very small files with full broadcast quality. Choose uncompressed PCM audio or even AAC when uploading files to YouTube. All models support ExFAT and HFS+ disk formats and long-play single-file recording. The Plus and Pro models support ProRes 4444 for playing back fill and key signals.
Advanced broadcast connections
Depending on the model, the HyperDeck Studio includes numerous video and audio connections, such as 3G-SDI, 6G-SDI, and 12G-SDI. All models include HDMI for connecting to TVs and projectors. The Pro and Plus models offer a dedicated SDI monitor output with on-screen status. They also include two SDI outputs for playing ProRes 4444 files and routing fill and key signals for keying to production switchers. Timecode and reference generator connections can be looped together to synchronize devices for ISO recording. The 4K model features 10G Ethernet for extremely fast file transfers! All models include secure AC and DC power supplies.
Fill and key outputs for broadcast animations
The HyperDeck Studio Plus and Pro play ProRes 4444 HD files on their two independent SDI key and fill outputs. The HyperDeck Studio can play graphics clips for broadcast animations, as the alpha channel of the ProRes 4444 file is converted to the SDI key output for real-time keying on a live production switcher. Additionally, the HyperDeck Studio 4K Pro features Ultra HD fill and key playback. You can create synths and stingers with the key channel outputs for incredibly clean, multi-layered titles. Furthermore, switchers like the ATEM connect to the HyperDeck Studio via Ethernet to trigger playback synchronized with transitions!
Customizable and immersive video display
Museums, galleries, shopping malls, and even office entrances use video displays to further engage visitors. Create an immersive multi-screen experience using the HyperDeck Studio as a video server! The HyperDeck’s Ethernet protocol allows you to integrate a custom app to trigger playback from a HyperDeck with a simple touchscreen. By linking multiple recorders together, you can create enormous LED video walls or surround viewers with screens for a fully immersive experience. With the HyperDeck Studio 4K Pro, you can even use Ultra HD quality to achieve stunning detail on every screen!
