Description
Mavospec Base was designed to make light very precise and easy to manipulate wherever and whenever you want. All the major measurement variables for light, such as illuminance, correlated color temperature, color rendering index according to CIE 13.3 and IES TM-30-15, chromaticity coordinates according to the different CIE standards, flicker, spectral power distribution, peak and dominant wavelengths, are defined from the measured spectrum and indicated in a way that is understandable to both the expert and the amateur.
Key features of the Mavospec Base spectrometer:
Intuitive one-handed controlwith controller ring and a few buttons
Very bright color screenfor perfect viewing in all lighting conditions and easily understandable on-screen feedback
Excellent stability of the measured valueover a wide temperature range thanks to the integrated temperature sensor and automatic dark current temperature compensation
Photometric and radiometric calibrationwith a calibration report guaranteeing perfect and plausible results
Investment securitythanks not only to its very high quality made in Germany and a 3-year guarantee
All measured values are stored on its integrated SD card and then easily transmitted to the computer via the USB interface
Give your Mavospec Base light the right colorlight redefined
Light shapes spaces and stimulates the observer’s senses. Light creates tension, triggers impulse purchases, increases productivity, provides security, or simply invites relaxationto name just a few of the requirements that successful lighting must meet. The development of high-efficiency LEDs with excellent energy efficiency has opened up entirely new perspectives for lighting planning, but at the same time, a major challenge has emerged: the effect produced by light.
The same color day after day
Precision stems from experience, expertise, and meticulous, consistent calibration. Gosse is a specialist in light measurement with decades of experience in the field. It’s no coincidence that Gosse has become synonymous with continuous innovationresponding to ever-evolving technologies, regulations, and markets. The intuitively designed MAVOSPEC BASE is one of the most accurate and reliable spectrometers in its class, utilizing the very latest technology available on the market.
Like all other precision photometric devices, this product also requires regular maintenance, recalibration and software updates to maintain its capabilities over the long term within the specified specifications and tolerances.
Calibrated for the most demanding requirements
For MAVOSPEC, we recommend a calibration interval of 12 to 24 months. Recalibration is performed in the GOSSEN lighting laboratory on a certified and tested optical bench whose traceability to the national standard of the German Federal Institute for
Physics and Metrology (Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt) is guaranteed by a Wi41G scientific standard lamp. The laboratory is subject to monitoring of control equipment according to DIN EN ISO 9001-9004 and is also accredited by DAkkS according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025. This guarantees the highest quality level of calibration and its international recognition.
Key factors for the study of lighting
The light spectrum emitted by an LED behaves entirely differently from that of previously used light sources. The brightness and color of LEDs vary depending on the manufacturing process. Natural light, incandescent lamps, and halogen lamps have a color rendering index (CRI) of 100, the highest possible index, a value that LED lighting cannot currently achieve. Furthermore, significant variations exist between different LED series, so that even when using lighting composed solely of LEDs, mixed lighting environments appear, which the color and illuminance measurements used until now can no longer reliably assess. Analyzing the quality of successful lighting:
When it comes to lighting design, a comprehensive measurement of light quality is proving increasingly essential. While previously it was sufficient to check illuminance and luminance using conventional lighting techniques, today it is also necessary to study the spectrum, chromaticity, color temperature, color rendering index, and flicker.
The Mavospec Base spectrometer determines all the relevant factors of your light to ensure that everything meets your requirements. This compact, high-end spectrometer analyzes your light with exceptional precision, clearly displays the results on a color screen, and records the measured valuesday after day and for all light sources.
