Description

The AJA HA-5 12G converter allows users to convert a single HDMI 2.0 input to two 12G-SDI single-link outputs. It distributes two amplified SDI outputs to each SDI connection, reducing cable lengths when transporting 4K/UltraHD SDI signals. The HA-5 12G supports up to eight audio channels in the HDMI source (or two analog 5RCA audio channels) with eight or two audio channels embedded in the 12G-SDI.

HDR

HDR, or High Dynamic Range, provides the ability to display a wider range of colors, much whiter whites, and much darker blacks than standard signals allow. These images offer a more dynamic appearance and allow viewers to perceive colors that closely resemble those seen by human vision.

The HA5-12G enables analysis of HDR infoframe data that is provided by the HDMI input and displayed by the AJA Mini-Config software.

4K and UltraHD

Standard 4K signals use a resolution of 4096 x 2160 pixels, while UltraHD signals are only 3840 x 2160. This difference can prevent some monitors from being used in Full 4K workflows or, conversely, in UltraHD. The HA5-12G can compensate for these resolution differences, allowing UltraHD displays to be used in 4K productions and vice versa.

The HA5-12G also supports High Frame Rate (HFR) input signals. 4K/UltraHD signals at 50 or 60 fps can be used as input to the HA5-12G and output up to 60p for use in professional workflows.

12G-SDI support

The HA5-12G’s 12G-SDI outputs offer very high signal quality and representation for use in demanding workflows with very high resolution and deep colors.

Perfect image quality

12G-SDI outputs with electronic phase-locked loop filtering ensure high image stability. An indicator LED displays the input signal standard: SD (green), HD (red), or 4K/UltraHD (orange) for easy identification.

Analog audio inputs

Using the analog audio inputs on RCA jacks, insert both channels into the SDI output signal and maintain proper audio sync throughout your workflow.

DSLR mount

The HA5-12G accepts standard definition signals, progressive at 525p and 625p to be compatible with DSLRs and to be able to integrate this type of signal into SDI workflows.

Universal AC Power Supply

All AJA Mini-Converters come with a universal power supply that includes the various adapters for mains plugs found worldwide.

Compact and portable

The AJA Mini-Converters are small enough to fit behind a monitor, in the back of a rack, or directly onto camera accessory doors. A locking power connector prevents accidental disconnections, and an optional P-TAP standard power cable allows for battery use in the field.
