Presentation of the Aja ROI-SDI

The new Aja ROI-SDI frequency converter enables conversions and part-of-image extractions (ROI) from a 3G-SDI input to HDMI and mirrored 3G-SDI outputs, all at an affordable price and portable size.

With incredible scaling quality, numerous shape ratio conversions and audio features, ROI-SDI meets the growing demand to customize video signals for a range of on-screen displays and SDI workflow needs, without sacrificing budget or taking up control room space.

Region Clipping:
Rotate the incoming image, clip a region of the image, or change the scroll speed to expand your creative options for camera footage.
Connect a USB ROI-SDI to a computer running the free Mini-Config software and interactively select a portion of the incoming video image. Take full control of scaling the clipped region to the output resolution, utilizing AJA’s exceptional scaling capabilities for the purest possible images.

Conversion:
Take complete control of aspect ratio conversion with Aja ROI-SDI’s Mini-Config software’s on-screen settings, which display exactly your source, what the output will look like, and which formats are incoming and outgoing. Simple menu controls let you quickly choose the right output for any situation.

Connectivity:
The ROI-SDI uses a direct probe output from the 3G-SDI, allowing it to be placed in-line for external monitoring while simultaneously extracting HDMI and 3G-SDI signals. The reference input ensures that the ROI’s 3G-SDI output is locked for use anywhere within a production or installation.

Audio:
The ROI-SDI accepts 8 channels of embedded audio from the 3G-SDI input. The external audio source and its routing can be selected via the Mini-Config software for insertion into the 3G-SDI and HDMI outputs. The ROI-SDI also features stereo audio outputs on RCA connectors for simple monitoring needs.

Universal mains power supply
All AJA Mini-Converters are supplied with a universal mains power supply which includes all mains connection plugs used worldwide.

Compact and Portable:
The AJA Mini-Converters are small enough to be mounted behind a monitor, on the back of a rack, or directly onto a camera rig. The power connector screws in with a quarter turn, preventing power loss during use. An optional P-TAP cable allows the Minis to be powered by battery in mobile situations.

All AJA Mini-Converters are covered by a 5-year warranty and a replacement policy in case of failure. If a replacement is necessary, AJA will immediately send a brand-new replacement unit to ensure the shortest possible downtime.
