The Sony FE 14mm F1.8 GM is an ultra-wide-angle prime lens with a bright F1.8 aperture. It’s ideal for landscape, nature, architectural, and astrophotography. It offers high low-light performance and enhanced depth-of-field control. Its optical design incorporates two extra-low dispersion elements and one Super ED element to reduce chromatic aberrations, along with two XA (extreme aspherical) elements that significantly control spherical aberrations for exceptional image sharpness and clarity. A Nano AR II coating has been applied to minimize ghosting and lens flare, resulting in improved contrast and color fidelity when working in bright lighting conditions.

The lens also incorporates an XD Linear Motor system that uses two separate motors to provide fast and quiet autofocus, and offers more responsive control for manual focus operation. A minimum focusing distance of just 9.8 inches and an ultra-wide field of view open up a new world of deep-perspective -up photography. Finally, the lens features a dust- and moisture-resistant design and benefits from fluorine coatings on external elements for easier shooting in adverse conditions.
