Introducing the Blackmagic URSA Mini Pro 4.6K G2 camera
Adding external controls to the camera allows access to menus for adjusting exposure settings, activating slow motion/time-lapse, or engaging focus and other functions. The camera also features a very clear 4 touchscreen that displays important information such as timecode, shutter speed, lens, battery, recording status, and audio levels. Thanks to the screen’s backlight, the information is visible in both dimly lit studios and bright sunlight. Another notable feature is the built-in ND (neutral density) filter wheel. The four-position dial allows you to switch between 2, 4, and 6 stops of neutral density.
Behind the screen, two UHS-II SD card slots alongside CFast 2.0 slots allow the use of more affordable media for less intensive recording formats. The G2 also features a USB-C port for direct recording to SSDs. The default EF lens mount is user-interchangeable, allowing you to use your PL, B4, and F-mount lenses (mounts sold separately).
At the heart of the camera is Blackmagic Designs Super 35mm 4.6K sensor. This sensor is renowned for its ability to capture cinematic images with subtle gradients and a wide dynamic range of 15 stops. The G2 can now capture Blackmagic RAW footage in both Movie and Extended modes, making it more versatile to meet your production needs. Perhaps the most impressive upgrade with the G2 is the ability to capture 4.6K footage at 120 frames per second, 4K DCI resolution at 150 frames per second, or even 1080p at 300 frames per second, making it ideal for fast-paced shooting.
