The BRC-X1000 is Sony’s first 4K remote camera. It combines uncompromising broadcast image quality with smooth, silent PTZ operation and the flexibility of 3G-SDI and HDMI connections. Designed for remote operation, this compact yet powerful robotic camera is the ideal complement to other broadcast cameras for discreetly recording footage in hard-to-reach areas. It is also suitable for use in television newsrooms, remote studios and broadcast rooms, auditoriums, places of worship, courtrooms, and stadiums. It also enables high-performance multi-camera setups, all controlled by a single operator.
The 1.0-type Exmor R CMOS sensor captures ultra-detailed 4K footage at 30p, with four times the pixels of a Full HD display and excellent low-light sensitivity. The large sensor size also allows for beautiful bokeh effects with minimal depth of field, making it suitable for all your artistic projects.
Fast, near-silent PTZ operation with 12x optical zoom gives you complete freedom to capture wide-angle scenes and -ups, while high-resolution 18x (4K) or 24x (HD) zoom technology further expands the possibilities without any visible loss of resolution. In HD resolution, the 24x zoom can be doubled to 48x with Tele Convert mode. Broadcast-ready features include dual tally lamps for on-air transmission and enhanced operational flexibility through ceiling, table, or tripod mounting options.
The camera also offers numerous video interface and remote control options, as well as PoE+ and Genlock support, simplifying seamless integration into any professional broadcast or audiovisual environment.
Improved Pan/Tilt/Zoom (PTZ) Function
Precise framing of shots or tracking of moving subjects with smooth, fast, and virtually silent remote control of pan/tilt/zoom functions. This is complemented by a slow pan/tilt mode and low-speed zoom for smooth, jerk-free camera movements. The PTZ Trace Memory function allows you to memorize and follow a sequence of camera movements on command. The PTZ Motion Sync function blends pan, tilt, and zoom movements to ensure smooth, professional-quality transitions between shots. Up to 100 pan/tilt/zoom positions can be programmed.
Exceptional 4K images
The large 1.0-type Exmor R CMOS sensor with back-illumination delivers uncompromising 4K 30p broadcast-quality color images, with four times the resolution of Full HD. The camera also captures Full HD 60p video, the ideal setting for filming fast-paced sports action.
24p cinema images
The camera can also operate in 24p mode, delivering video footage with an elegant, cinematic look. High-quality 12x optical zoom and 18x (4K) or 24x (HD) high-resolution zoom: The premium Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T* lens with a 12x optical zoom range covers wide-angle shots as well as the closest -ups. The high-resolution zoom* further extends this range to 18x (4K) or 24x (HD), without sacrificing detail. And the Tele Convert mode doubles this range again, up to 48x, still with 1920×1080 resolution.
*High-resolution zoom is an original intelligent interpolation by Sony that analyzes the input image and increases its resolution.
Excellent low-light sensitivity
The BRC-X1000 captures crisp, low-noise color video with an ambient light level of 1.7 lx, making it ideal for dimly lit rooms and auditoriums.
Installation flexibility
Its integration is simplified in a wide variety of environments, thanks to the PoE+ (Power over Ethernet) function which limits cabling requirements, as well as VISCA over IP control.
Remote operation
The Pan/Tilt/Zoom functions and other camera settings can be controlled remotely using the supplied infrared remote control, or the optional RM-IP500 remote control, which can control multiple cameras.
RCP Connection
In a studio environment, the BRC-X1000 can be controlled from the Sony RCP-1500/1501/1530 remote control panel. Connection to IP networks is possible.
Genlock
Genlock simplifies integration into other systems, in multi-camera broadcast environments.
