Wide selection of lenses

The ZEISS® Vario-Sonnar T* 24200 mm1 F2.84.5 zoom lens covers a large number of focal ranges corresponding to two standard zoom lenses (2470 mm and 70200 mm), all in a compact format.

High-resolution lens

The optical system includes four AA (advanced aspherical) lenses and two ED (extra-low dispersion) glass lenses that work together to deliver superb resolution right to the edges of the image, across the entire telephoto range.

A new image sensor for faster speed

The new 1.0-type stacked CMOS image sensor and the latest BIONZ X image processing engine bring a new dimension in terms of speed and image quality.

Continuous shooting at 20 fps with ultra-precise AF/AE tracking

The new fast image sensor offers burst shooting at up to 20 frames/s3. The camera tracks subjects while calculating AF/AE data up to 60 times/s3, even when they are moving in all directions or quickly.

Shooting without blackout for tracking

Blackout-free shooting4 allows you to track a moving subject without interruption on the LCD screen or viewfinder, with refresh rates up to 60 fps to reduce latency.

New single burst shooting function

The all-new single-shot burst function captures even the fastest action scenes, like the moment a tennis racket hits the ball, by taking seven images in quick succession at a selectable speed of 90, 60, or 30 frames per second. Capture those crucial, hard-to-capture moments. It can also be used with the self-timer. Both JPEG and RAW image formats are supported.

Wide coverage and fast AF speed

The RX100 VII offers a total of 357 focal-plane phase-detection AF points, covering 68% of the frame. These are complemented by 425 contrast-detection AF points and the world’s fastest 0.02 s.

Real-time tracking for moving subjects

Real-time tracking uses subject recognition (AI) algorithms that rely on color, pattern (brightness), subject distance (depth), and facial and eye information to track moving subjects. Maintaining stable and consistent focus on a moving subject allows you to capture every important moment of the action in real time, whether you’re shooting still images or recording video.

Real-time Eye AF focusing: images/videos

Sony’s advanced eye-tracking and detection capabilities enable stunning portraits. Real-time eye tracking keeps your subject in focus even as they move, giving you complete freedom in composing your shot. You can focus on either eye.

Real-time Eye AF for Animals

Real-time Eye AF (eye tracking) is available for both animals8 and people. Taking stunning animal portraits is now easier than ever.

High-resolution 4K HDR (HLG) recording and stable autofocus

The camera supports internal 4K video recording (QFHD: 3840×2160) with full pixel readout and no pixel binning. Optimized AF algorithms deliver stable and smooth autofocus. Real-time Eye AF (human focus) tracking and focusing are also available for video. With HLG capability, enjoy HDR images by connecting your camera to a compatible Sony HDR (HLG) TV via USB cable.

Advanced features for video creators and bloggers

Elevate your vlogs with the RX100 VII compact camera. New touch tracking for video provides simple and easy autofocus you can rely on, while real-time human eye tracking ensures precise focus. Even while walking, Active Image Stabilization delivers smooth 4K video, and with a tilting selfie screen and external microphone jack, framing and audio recording are a breeze.

Access to the electronic viewfinder via a button

The XGA OLED Tru-Finder viewfinder offers a resolution of approximately 2.35 million dots for a bright, detailed, and high-contrast image. A switch provides easy access, and it retracts quickly when not in use.

Touch control for smooth recording

Simply tap the screen to start real-time image or video tracking. Touch focus, touchpad, and touch shutter options are also available.

Easy data management

Photos can be rated or protected from deletion in playback mode using a custom button. Captured images can be displayed in groups, and groups can be deleted or protected with a simple operation.
