Introducing the AW-HEA10 PTZ Camera Control Assistant

Panasonic’s new Camera Control Assistant offers a panoramic view of all footage thanks to its ultra-wide viewing angle. It can also function as a camera itself, using its HDMI output as an image analysis tool to control the main camera mounted above it. The AW-HEA10 Camera Control Assistant, compatible with the AW-HE40, AW-HE60, and AW-HE130 models, is easily operated via an iPad app.

Available online from the Apple Store, the « PTZ CNTRL » app is free. This app offers complete wireless control of the main camera via an easy-to-use interface, making the AW-HEA10 the ideal tool for non-professional camera applications, particularly in environments such as education, business, and government.

It’s not uncommon for users of traditional camera controllers to miss events happening outside the main camera’s field of view. Thanks to the « tap-assist » system, these events can be viewed using the tablet’s wide-angle view. Simply tap the tablet screen to point the camera in the desired direction. This way, nothing escapes the camera, even when events are unfolding rapidly.

Zoom can be operated by manually enlarging the image on the tablet or via an on-screen control. Up to nine preset shots for the main camera can be activated using dedicated buttons on the tablet screen. The HE40/HE60 and HE130 main cameras can be controlled using the HEA10’s wide-angle view. This allows PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom) functions to be activated even for shots outside the main camera’s field of view. This feature is particularly useful for remote seminars, sporting events, medical training, information dissemination, discussion groups, and similar applications.
