Introducing the Rode SmartLav+

The Rode SmartLav+ is a professional-grade lapel microphone suitable for film, television, and live reporting, as well as other situations requiring a highly discreet recording system without the complexity and cost of additional wireless equipment. The SmartLav+ can be used as a traditional lapel/lapel microphone and plugged into the headphone jack of a smartphone or tablet, which can then record using the iOS app RØDE Rec or another audio application.

Equipped with a high-quality omnidirectional condenser capsule, it captures sound from 360°, allowing for greater freedom in mounting the smartLav+ and simplifying its use. It comes with a pop filter to minimize wind noise and plosives (B, T and P) as well as a robust mounting clip with a cable guide. The Kevlar®-reinforced cable prevents damage from pulling or breakage.

The smartLav+ was designed for use with the RØDE Rec app for Apple iOS devices, but it also works perfectly with other apps that accept input signals via the headphone jack. RØDE Rec transforms an iOS device into a fully-fledged field recorder, offering numerous EQ presets, professional audio processing features, and the ability to publish to SoundCloud and Dropbox directly from the app.
