The Sirui Venus 35mm T2.9 1.6x is a full-frame anamorphic lens. The 35mm anamorphic field of view is equivalent to that of a 22mm full-frame lens, allowing you to include more elements in the frame, making it ideal for shooting architecture, landscapes, and confined spaces. It produces horizontal blue trails when pointed at a light source, giving your footage a dreamy or sci-fi aesthetic. An image captured in 16:9 will give the anamorphic format a 2.8:1 aspect ratio, while a 3:2 shot will yield a final image of 2.4:1. The 1.25x anamorphic adapter increases the horizontal field of view by 25%. When you screw the SIRUI 1.25x adapter onto a 1.6x anamorphic lens, you achieve 2x compression. Higher compression results in more noticeable anamorphic characteristics, such as finer bokeh and shallower depth of field.
